The RevGenius community is humming right now. Our Slack is busier than it's been all year, the webinars are pulling stronger lineups, and our sponsor partnerships have been a hit.

And I keep thinking about what we could add on top of all of that, especially for members who show up every day.

A week back, I posted this in Slack.

The asks at the bottom were direct. Is this a good idea, and what topics are top of mind. I wanted members to shape this with me before we built it.

Airspeed is this week’s Revenue Creator sponsor

Your forecast is lying to you.

On July 16th at 4:30 PM ET, Thang Nguyen (VP of Sales, Airspeed) and Doug May (SVP, Harness) get into why forecasting actually breaks inside revenue orgs.

It isn't a data problem, you have more data than ever. It's a context problem: activity and sentiment dressed up as buying signals. They'll walk through what changed when they stopped treating forecasts as a reporting exercise and started reading buyer behavior instead.

Show up live and get early access to Airspeed's forecasting module plus your first month free.

What we landed on

Three roundtables a month, starting with a weekly coffee talk every Thursday at 12pm ET. Free-flowing chat with community members without being backed by agenda or sponsors.

Faces, not avatars

This Thursday we ran the first one.

The thing that hit me first had nothing to do with what anyone said. It was just seeing everyone.

Names I'd watched scroll past in Slack for years had a person attached to them. Members I'd never spoken to one-on-one were laughing at each other's jokes. People I assumed were lurkers turned out to be founders mid-build with sharp opinions and good energy.

For a community I've spent five years running, that hour felt like meeting half of it for the first time.

An hour of just talking

  • One member with a 20,000-subscriber LinkedIn newsletter walked away with a clear migration plan in twelve minutes.

  • A first-time founder shipping his first product picked up a "talk to a hundred buyers" framework from another founder who'd lived it.

  • Someone shared a workflow for pushing client project updates as live URLs instead of static documents. A consultant talked through her upcoming book on the leadership gap nobody's solving for in the AI transition.

  • A founder named his company after a cut of meat and made one of the sharpest cases for signal-based deployment I've heard outside a Series B pitch.

Why I'm running these every week

The DMs I got after the call were different from the DMs I get the rest of the week.

People who met on Thursday were setting up follow-ups, sending each other intros, sharing tools they didn't have a reason to share before. The community moved.

That's what I keep underestimating about formats like this. You can't really make it happen in a channel. It happens in rooms.

So coffee talks run every Thursday at 12pm ET going forward. The format gets better the more members show up and shape it.

Next Coffee Talk: Thursday, July 2nd at 12pm ET.

Bring something you're building, something that's stuck, or just bring questions. The point is to show up.
