The community’s take on building a trust-first commission tool:

→Avoid "Power" Bloat. Most tools fail because they focus on complex formula builders that only a math wizard can understand. The community wants less "power" and more confidence knowing exactly why a number changed without needing a degree in engineering.

→Build a "Human-Readable" History. Forget technical "Git-style" version control with branches and diffs. Instead, provide a simple history of rule changes that explains the "before and after" impact in plain English (e.g., "this change increased payouts by 5%").

→The "Plain English" Summary. A killer feature is giving a manager the ability to explain a payout to a rep without even opening the tool. If the logic is opaque, trust breaks instantly.

→Audit Trails Over Formula Builders. Prioritize immutable audit logs and versioned logic. The goal is to see what changed, why it changed, and the ability to roll it back without needing to understand the underlying math.

Bottom line: 
Don't build a complex sandbox for Ops; build a transparency engine for Sales. If you can make commission logic feel simple and "undoable," you’ve already beaten the enterprise giants. 💰
