Mintis Sow has lived about five careers inside HubSpot: quota-carrying seller, sales manager, founding member of the RevOps team, the marketer who built outbound inside the most inbound company in SaaS, and most recently Senior Director of Agentic Selling.

Now she's leaving to found Fraction GTM, and this conversation is the handoff note. The thread through all of it: map the human judgment first. The automation only works after.

What you’ll learn

  • How an outbound seller taught an inbound giant to prospect, starting with culture, then systems, then data

  • The signals program built from scratch, the three holy grail signals, and the auto-prospecting motion that drove $9M last year

  • The human judgment framework: map your best rep's decision points, then hand them to the system

  • The trust score that replaced PhD-built fit scores, and the 50% pipeline lift when reps leaned in

  • Why agentic selling lives or dies on the call, and her three hot takes for 2027

If you’re in the Bay Area on October 15th, Revolt! is coming to you in person.

We’re hosting a San Francisco panel and happy hour in a room of the Bay’s best revenue operators.

The panel has Anna Centrella (VP Sales Development, Carta), Vanessa Thompson (VP Revenue & Growth Marketing, Twilio), Eric Martin (VP of Sales, Vanta), and Connor Heggie (CTO, Unify).

The panel digs into AI outbound targeting and how to fix it so it puts meetings on your calendar instead of burning your lists. Signal stacking, personalization that sounds human, and where the rep stays in the loop.

After that it’s drinks, light bites, and the conversations that don’t happen on webinars.

6 to 8pm PT. Spots are limited. Grab yours.

Key Takeaways

1. Culture, then systems, then data

HubSpot was built to convert inbound, and nobody builds infrastructure for switching motions. So when she was handed outbound, the first year wasn't tooling, it was getting people to want the change at all. The origin story is better: as a sales manager she ran outbound data for her team on her own credit card. That's why they gave her the job.

2. Make outbound feel like inbound

Her signals program replicated the motion reps already trusted: a signal fires, the rep gets a notification, pipeline gets created. The holy grail signals: job changes mapped to the install base, usage and upgrade timing from the product, and third-party intent stacked on top. Those signals drove $30M, and the auto-prospecting motion into the customer base did $9M on its own last year.

3. Map the judgment before you automate

As a rep she spent 20 minutes digging through an account to write a one-line email. Years later she turned that exact ritual into a signal and automated it end to end. That's the whole framework: find what your best people check, in what order, and why, then hand that decision tree to the system so the worst person in the room performs like the best.

4. Reps trust what thinks like them

PhD data scientists built fit scores, and reps rejected them one edge case at a time. So she mapped the 90-second review a rep actually does, websites, LinkedIn, employee count, real-business checks, and built that into rules. Reps named it the trust score. It now helps carve territories, and the down-market pilot saw roughly 50% pipeline gains from reps who leaned in. She built the first version watching 90 Day Fiance.

5. The call is the Super Bowl

Outbound shops fixate on booking meetings. She watched millions of dollars of pipeline work die in the first 15 minutes of calls. Her own down-market close rate ran 47% against a 15 to 20% average, built on one rule from her outbound years: never waste a lead.

6. Centralize, evangelize, normalize

She was on HubSpot's founding RevOps team when RevOps was the new thing, and she's watched the same arc every time: centralize to control it, evangelize to spread it, then it disappears into regular work. Her prediction: AI strategy teams go the same way. Her three hot takes for 2027 close the episode.
